REVIEWS AT A GLANCE

Our stay in Torri del Benaco was delightful. Breakfasts and drinks before dinner were outside on the the terrace overlooking the lake. The town was perfect without the crowds of other towns on the lake. We enjoyed the Monday market and recommend it to other visitors. A perfect spot for two couples.

If you're up for a charming house right up the hill from Lake Garda and a stunning panorama view from the huge terrace you definitely have to check in at Villa Olivi’s appartment. We were in love with the beautiful scenery and felt at home straight away. Amazing hosts they welcomed us with a huge bouquet of flowers and a bottle of frizzante as we spent part of our honeymoon there - and provided us with lots of helpful information. Communication was always very easy, uncompliated and fast and the Torri town itself is one of the most beautiful villages around lake Garda. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

TORRI DEL BENACO

The peaceful village on the eastern shore of Lake Garda

appeals to visitors due to its timeless romantic charm. A lasting impression of the

place is obtained when arriving by boat. From a distance that makes the mighty Scaligeri’s castle visible and gives onlookers an idea of how Antonio della Scala must once have governed

this place. The foundation walls date back to Roman times, from which also dates the old

name of the Lake, Benacus, a name still to be found in the place name Torri del Benaco.

Today the castle houses a folklore museum. It is so charming to stroll along the picturesque small streets or admire the lake from the enchanting promenade. The oval shaped harbour reaches up to the old town. With its colourful fishing boats swinging back and forth like pearls strung together on a chain, the harbour becomes an idyllic and peaceful spot to relax.

Torri del Benaco: THE SCALIGER CASTLE

One of the most important buildings in Torri and certainly the most striking, this medieval castle was built near the end of the 14th century by Antonio della Scala. It’s now home to a Lemon Grove and a museum where you can learn about local produce and culture.

There is a magnificent view from the battlements over the little harbour and ancient roofs of Torri, as wellas almost the whole of the Lake from Sirmione to Limone.

Scaliger castle museum

This museum is in the grounds of a 14th century castle. It includes exhibitions on fishing and olive growing, focusing on how previous generations lived in the surrounding areas. This is a great place to visit if you are have an interested in discovering local history.there is a reconstruction of an olive press. The parts in stone are original and date back to Roman times, these are for crushing the olives.
